More on the Adventure Registry

Brian asked if there were a link to get some of the articles I posted in the previous note. The place I found a lot of them is at www.earlywinters.com
Here are some details:
For the gloves: “Sticky Fingers Gloves,” size medium
For the hat: “The Loki Convertible Hat,” one size fits all
For the pants: “Fully lined Juneaur Jeans,” size large
For the shirts: “Bi-Component Turtleneck,” size large, colors navy and red
The Nalgene bottle can be purchased at any outfitters store. The film I will purchase here, so send money if that is your choice.
To see the tour itself, go to www.rei.com, then click on the Adventures tab. From there find Antartica on the left menu. David and I will be going on the “Classic” tour aboard the Professor Molchanov.

Adventure Registry

Since so many folks have been interested in the trip that David and I will be taking to Antarctica during the latter part of December, and since it is going to be a costly trip, and since this is the gift-giving season, I thought that I would post an “Adventure Registry.” This will allow those who are interested in “participating” in the trip the opportunity to off-set some of my expense! You may want to purchase an item (or part of an item) or send money so I can get just what I need. Just think, I may be wearing the “John Grove Left Foot Boot” while tromping through the penguine guano.
Item Price
AR1— 20 rolls of 35mm camera film
AR2— Fleecelined expedition pants $60
AR3— Wool hat with balaclava $28
AR4— Waterproof gloves $30
AR5— Qt. sized wide-mouth Nalgene bottle
AR6— 3pr. sock liners $26
AR7— 2 silk/polyester turtleneck shirts $35 ea.
I may list more later, so stay tuned.

On the road east

Let’s try this again. Ruth and I will be leaving for the east on Saturday morning, November 16. We will be in Stony Point, NY until Monday afternoon. Then we will go to the City, staying at Union Theological Seminary. Exhausting ourselves there, we will part company about mid-day Wednesday. I will go to Roanoke, VA to give a keynote presentation for the Presbytery of the Peaks, returning to Lvl on Friday. Ruth will go from NYC to Boston, helping to prepare for the twins (and she wonders if she will help deliver them!), returning home on Satuday.
We may be contacted on Ruth’s cell phone: 502-645-4243. We have difficulty retrieving messages from our home answering machine so that will not be a convenient place to leave messages unless you want them to wait for a week.
